Spring is the time for picking your own strawberries and raspberries at the the Plow Creek Mennonite community (seasonal) or at the annual Strawberry Festival which is a popular local activity.
Southwest of town is Camp Menno Haven. Choice of accommodations and meals also. The woods have tended paths allows delightful walks in the woods.
Windmills south of town belong to Crescent Ridge Wind Farm, Bureau County's natural energy contribution.
Bring your child for a day of fishing on the Hennepin Canal for Canal Day a family activity the kids will be sure to love. Pow Wow Days is a festival in late July, which offers a child rodeo and Indian dances.
You can access Bureau Creek and the Hennepin Canal recreational areas just north of town. Park and fish at Big Bureau Creek or Lock 11. |
